Adventure cycling begins the moment our feet push down on the pedals of our bikes and we start to roll. The feel of the wind against our faces as we move quickly and quietly over any type of terrain is what makes adventure cycling one of our favorite extreme outdoor adventures. Biking, as some refer to adventure cycling, can be used to get us from anywhere to any place any time we can put ourselves on our bike seats and begin pedaling.
The viewing of blocks or miles of beautiful scenery is just another great feature of adventure cycling. City streets offer just as much opportunity for exercise and pleasure as mountain trails when it comes to adventure cycling. The rhythm of our legs accounts for the speed at which we will take in our surroundings. This pumping up and down of our lower extremities can be assisted by different gears on our bikes should we be fortunate enough to afford one with a range of gears. If we only have a single sprocket set to an ancient frame our adventure cycling can be enjoyed just as much as long as we keep air in our tires. In reality, the less fancy our ride, the more exercise we will garner as we exert our muscles to propel our bicycle.Adventure cycling is an activity anyone, young or old, can participate in as long as they can keep their balance. It can save gas money and take us to work or play. It allows for socialization on a very leisurely level. It can be done in a short amount of time or over the course of a day or days. The opportunities for numerous benefits abound when it comes to adventure cycling. In an effort to fight air pollution and the enlarging of the human body, we should all seriously consider adventure cycling. There are many groups who ride regularly all over the world in many different venues. The “Tour De France” is not for everyone, but adventure cycling is something we all can do. Whether we ride alone or with others, the fact is we can all enjoy biking. We can ride hard and build up a sweat or easily and just enjoy our surroundings. Both provide much needed exercise and fat burning too many of us who sit around to much and burn too few calories. Adventure cycling provides us the chance to actually become a bit healthier.So change in to something comfortable, grab a helmet, if you are so inclined, and dust off that old friend setting out in the garage.
